FAQs
1. Is this mouse padd really made out of aluminum?
- Yes, 100% precision machined aluminum, then anodized to our specification. This is keeping in the same vein as Apple’s corporate thrust to manufacture quality products. MacPadd is also stylish and developed minimizing the carbon foot print in its manufacture.
- The interior design shift on many desks these days is aluminum trim so we are matching both the Apple motif and general interior design trend.

4. Why solid aluminum?
- This product is precision designed and manufactured for our target market, the Mac users of the world. We also wanted to compliment the Apple products quality that the Mac community expects and demands from its development partners. We also wanted to reduce the carbon footprint in the MacPadd’s manufacture keeping with our and Apple’s Inc.’s environmental mandate.
- Other mouse pads are developed from fossil fuels products (rubber) and are typically give away or throw away items sometimes used as promotional products. MacPadd is meant for the discriminating Mac community of users to be your last mouse padd using a natural material that could be recycled if and when it is no longer needed.
5. Why do you spell it “padd”?
- It is our twist or differentiation on a computer element that has been around for a while with limited progress in its development. We believe that mouse pads are for Windows users and MacPadd is for the Mac community.
6. Will this product be sold in retail stores?
- No, not right now. Our business model is to use the online systems to bring our MacPadd to the Mac community. There may come a time when it might be viable (new iMac purchasers) but we are satisfied with our online business. We currently have Macway (macway.com) (France) and Other Word Computing (macsales.com) (USA) as regional distributors and we are looking for more in other regions of the world.
7. How will this product be shipped?
- MacPadd is shipped in a protective envelope the regular national postal systems (Canada and USA). We do not provide tracking numbers. We can speciality ship using Fedex, UPS, etc however, this would be done on a special order basis by emailing us or calling the number provided.
8. Is this product only available in Canada and the USA?
- We are NOW SHIPPING international and currently looking into other logistical models for Europe and Asia.
9. Finally, why is the mouse padd better than any other?
- All of the other mouse pads are flimsy and designed to advertised instead of perform.
- We have developed a mouse padd specifically for the Mac community others are for Windows
- Our product has been designed to last a life time (or to be recycled) not to be a “throw away”
- We have developed product features that we believe the Mac user appreciates.
- We will continue to develop products to serve this and other niche markets knowing our customers demand quality, style and environmentally conscious products.
10. Can this mouse padd be used with Windows or other mouse systems?
- Of course! There has been significant interest expressed by the Windows based community who want a mouse padd to match their existing corporate or home office motif. Again, there is a general switch to the Mac world products.
